Our Commitment to Online Safety

At Babelocator, we believe that a free community must also be a safe one. We work every day to make this digital space a place where adults can participate with confidence, knowing there are clear rules, active protection, and real people behind the scenes.

The Online Safety Act (OSA) is a UK law designed to make the internet safer for everyone, especially children. As an open digital platform where users can create and share content, Babelocator fully embraces the responsibilities this law requires. Beyond legal compliance, we do this because it is the right thing to do.

1. What is the Online Safety Act?

The OSA, passed in 2023, aims to protect people from online harm through illegal content or harmful interactions. Ofcom regulates the law and publishes guidance at ofcom.org.uk/online-safety.

2. What are we doing at Babelocator?

Babelocator is a space where people share texts, images, and bookings. As a user-to-user service we:

Take action against illegal or harmful content.
Provide extra protection for children and young people.
Offer clear reporting tools for users.
Implement proactive measures to reduce risks.
Follow and apply Ofcom's official recommendations.

3. How we handle illegal content

We do not tolerate:

Extreme pornography
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
Sexual or labor exploitation of children or adults
Human trafficking
Hate speech, violence, or terrorism-related content
Fraud, scams, and identity impersonation
Any other illegal activity under UK law

4. What are we doing about it?

We review sensitive content before publication where applicable.
Human moderators are trained to detect violations and act swiftly.
Automated tools flag high-risk content, keywords, and previously reported material.
Hash-matching technology helps prevent upload of known illegal images.
Report buttons allow users to alert us to concerning content.
Serious reports may lead to removal, suspension, and notification of authorities.
Fast-response protocols apply to exploitation or trafficking suspicions.
Age or identity verification may be required for explicit content or restricted categories.

5. Protecting minors

We conduct Children's Access Assessments and implement protections including mandatory age verification for adult visual content via UK-approved third parties, content warnings, creator controls, trained moderation, and immediate suspension where inappropriate behavior involving minors is detected.

IMPORTANT: Keep credentials from your first legal age check. Without them you may need to pay again. Provide an email address to recover verification credentials.

6. What else are we doing?

We update policies and systems based on Ofcom guidance, conduct internal reviews, listen to community reports, and plan transparency reporting on safety measures and outcomes.
